Ways to Support the Edison
There are many ways to support the Edison K8 School. Here are a few:
Support our Emotional Impairment Strand: www.flipcause.com/secure/cause_pdetails/NTYwMTE=
Support classroom projects through DonorsChoose.org
The organization DonorsChoose.org is a one-stop shopping place for contributing to a wide variety of charitable projects, including many for improving education at the Edison K8 School.
Follow this link for a list of projects at the Edison K8 School currently requesting funding through DonorsChoose.org .
*If you do not see a current project listed, please use the Contact Us form to the left and someone will get back to you with a current classroom that may be in need of items!
Donate directly to the school through the BEDF
The Edison K8 School uses the Boston Educational Development Foundation (BEDF), a 501(c)(3) organization, as its fiscal agent. Contributions made to the Edison through the BEDF are tax deductible. Make your tax-deductible contributions through BEDF through one of two online organizations:
- Contribute using JustGive.org
- Contribute through Network for Good -- please specify "Edison K8 School" in the "Designation" field in order to ensure that the money goes straight to the Edison.
Buy a ticket for a school performance
The Edison K8 School students put on two performing arts productions each year, in January and May, as part of the 7th and 8th grade dramatic arts class. One is a musical and the other a drama. You can also contribute directly to the drama program at the Edison: Make your tax-deductible contributions through BEDF and specify "Edison K8 School drama program" as the designation for your gift.
Donate an item needed by teachers at the school
Many teachers at the Edison K8 School have lists of items that they could use immediately in the classroom to support your child's education. If you have an item you no longer need that is on the list, please consider donating it to the Edison. Soon, we will be assembling and putting that list online, so come back here to visit again soon!
Donate an everyday item for your child's classroom
Many teachers have everyday needs for their classroom, such as paper towels, facial tissues, sanitizer, crayons, and so on.
