The Edison K8 School encourages parent involvement in many different aspects of their child's education. We value the diversity of our families and welcome everyone to get involved.
The Boston Public Schools has developed a program called "Parent University" to help parents support their children's education.
Most of the events take place on Saturdays at locations throughout the city, but a few evening workshops have been held at the Edison K8 School.
At Parent University, families learn more about how they can support their students’ learning and grow as Teachers, Advocates, Learners and Leaders. They bring in speakers who talk on topics that affect student learning, such as curriculum, changes happening in BPS, cognitive development, reading strategies, homework strategies, nutrition and so much more. We highly encourage attending Parent University!
